Early Years

Spock1101's childhood home in the rural Midwest.

Spock1101 was born in the midwestern metropolis of Chicago (present day Illinois) late in the 20th century. First of two children born to his mother he spent his early years in a small rural village known for its corn based exploits. There he and his brother lived until their interests diverged and his brother chose the sword becoming a Samurai while Spock1101 looked up to the stars and chose to focus on science. Little more is known about his brother except for his title change from Samurai to Ronin for failing to commit seppuku after abandoning his Sensei.

Entry into Hydra

In response to a labor shortage in spring of 2013, Spock1101 joined the Minecraft community initially on the GotPVP server under the direction of Lo_bit. There he worked primarily as a general builder of the yet unnamed crew assisting in the construction of the Estate home known as Olympus that served as their primary base of operations. In the later years he continued as a builder earning a role as one of two chief builders (along with Great_Man_7) for the planned community of Athens. It was not until his transition to PirateCraft that his escapades with Redstone began with the installation of the first iteration of the siege system at then Reich’s Fortress One.

Rise to Power

During the transition from Fortress One to the more defendable neighboring Fortresses Two and Three, Spock1101 cemented his role as the crews Redstone technician. This new position afforded him the rights and privileges of a full member as it was more integrally related to the safety and day to day operations of the crew. Coincidentally at the same time as this transition, several public relations mishaps lead to the crew being more actively targeted and attacked at its new base of operations. Though these constant attacks were easily dispatched with using the crews superior technology they ultimately decided to retire from the server uncertain as to whether they would ever return.

The Birth of the Empire

Months after their exodus in the dead of night Dpex81 and Chiroptera419 quietly rejoined the server and began assessing the fortune of resources that had been stashed away in a resurrection vault. Deciding to re-grace the server with their presence they began playing once more and were quickly joined by Spock1101 to begin construction on now iconic stone monolith known colloquially as The Box™. Universally trusted and regarded by all with the highest esteem, Spock1101 was entrusted with the ultimate mission of claiming The Box™ for all of eternity. It was from this structure the rest of the now timeless empire was born. For years after Spock1101 worked closely with other High Ranking Hydra Officials in the construction of some of the Empire's most iconic buildings such as the Hydra Financial Building, the Quadskellion, the National Museum of Hydran History, and the now demolished island village of New Athens. Though occasionally recruited to build or furnish new structures Spock1101 primary field of expertise had narrowed to his position as the Chief of the Hydran Corps of Redstone Engineers. In that position he installed the Redstone monstrosity that is the base-wide siege system as well as the several updates and expansions that have come in years after. In addition to many other Empire-wide siege systems and miscellaneous Redstone installations, Spock1101 has also been brought on as an outside consultant for other players outside of Hydra to assist with malfunctioning Redstone circuitry. These players include MysticFlare, Rivvur, Tulips, Nahadoth, and Torkey.

Work with Hydra

Though the overzealous Political Science major might simplify the Empire’s governmental structure to something akin to a federalist oligarchy it is important to understand that much of Hydra’s success comes from its work as a singular coherent unit. The following are some examples of the crew’s collaborative exploits throughout the years in which Spock1101 participated.

The PorkIsAFruit Trade Initiative

The cornerstone of Hydra’s modus operandi is long term clandestine operatives implanted in foreign powers for the purpose of complete and utter destruction on the scale of the Scythian invasion of the Persian Achaemenid Empire; however, on the rare occasions the opportunity presents itself to relieve an oblivious player of their hard earned goods. The PorkIsAFruit Trade initiative is a prime example of this mentality in action. On a warm spring night one May an unsuspecting PorkIsAFruit requested a trade for diamonds he needed. The generous P1ndr0p agreed to trade with him and after the exchange went on his way. As those who have watched the documentary or read the poem by Spock1101 are aware PorkIsAFruit immediately turned around and offered to trade away the diamonds he had just acquired. Taking this opportunity P1ndr0p and Spock1101 hatched a plan to trade with him again to which he agreed. It was only after teleporting to P1ndr0p and trading that he realized his mistake when an invisible Spock1101 slew him relieving him of his inventory. The story goes on to him pleading and giving Hydra iron blocks in exchange for his famed pickaxe but sadly to no avail. Hydra in honoring GodsDead’s wish for a pirate themed server follows the old adage of Take what you can. Give nothing back.

The One Tool Accord of 2016

After Hydra’s second return to the server their server footprint began to increase rapidly and it soon became clear that a set unifying building guidelines was necessary to maintain standards. Dpex81, Chiroptera419, and Spock1101 lobbied extensively for what is now often referred to as the predecessor to the Official Hydra Building Codes the One Tool Accord set out basic guidelines for construction across all of the Empire’s new facilities most notably establishing that all exterior construction must be done with stone (due to its non-siegeable and plentiful nature) and all non-decorative construction must be done with blocks that can be broken easily with a pickaxe. This accomplished two things; First is that with the exception of entry and egress points surrounding structures were impregnable and second, maintenance crews could freely navigate through Hydra Facilities with only a single tool leading to increased efficiency.

Starbucks and The Eternal Shop of Hydra

Now a staple of The Eternal Shop of Hydra's, a Starbucks has graced The Shop's top floor in all of its iterations. Originally founded on AEO's Island in early 2016, Starbucks was one of Hydra's first forays into foreign trade. Fueled by Spock1101's passion for brewing, Starbucks offered outsiders a delicious and affordable glimpse into the mysterious Empire. As the years continued and with the help of Dpex81, Starbucks' began to pop up all over the server in notable structures such as the National Museum of Hydran History, the storied main street of New Athens, the thrilling Arena at the Quadskellion, and the iconic Hydran monolith known colloquially as The Box™. While AEO's revolutionary island fell out of the public eye the Empire took this new opportunity to once again grace the server with the coffee house they had loved so much. As Trooper306 and Dpex81 began principle construction of the original shop, space was afforded for Spock1101 to install a brand new location with revolutionary automated functionality to serve the server. Again, as time passed and the shop changed locations once again was a Starbucks integrated into construction to bring needing customers the fresh, quality beverages that come to know and love.

The PirateCraft Environmental Protection Agency

In response to Lego’s unilateral poor and ineffectual management of the PirateCraft Environment Agency, Spock1101 in collaboration with the International Administration for Server Security founded the PirateCraft Environmental Protection Agency or PEPA. It was Spock1101 and Macro26 who secured 211 Million Dabloons from the PirateCraft General Assembly for the funding of this new agency. All of this done in an effort to give the people of PirateCraft a well managed and invested agency that would work to protect the environment they dearly call home. Since it’s foundation PEPA has led the reclamation projects for over a dozen derelict islands, cleaned hundreds of lakes and rivers, and revitalized native flora and fauna through enhanced biodiversity reconstruction. Unquestionable proof of its commitment to its core mission of protecting human health and the environment.

The RRM Bill

Along with Hydra’s third return to the server came sweeping changes in legislation and operating procedures. One of the most notable is the Redstone Renovation or Modernization Bill which aimed to renovate old systems with more efficient and succinct Redstone and modernize entrances and exists based on obsolete technology. As the current Chief of the Hydran Corps of Redstone Engineers, Spock1101 in conjunction with Trooper306; the Director of the Institute for Redstone Research, spearheaded this project across all Hydra Facilities. One notable dissenter to the RRM Bill was famed Anti-Redstone activist Great_Man_7 who despite being an engineer by trade claimed the knew digitally activated siege system was “too complicated”. This led to a public fight in the media between Spock1101 and Great_Man_7 which ultimately ended in Great_Man_7’s defeat. A fact for which he is still ridiculed.

The Hydran Server Security Act of 2020

In early 2020 as the Empire's third return to the server solidified it became clear that improved security regulations were necessary in order to ensure Empire security. Passed unanimously by the newly elected Hydran High Council and ratified by the Director General the new security act enacted new protocols for operation in open and unsecured spaces, for new construction regulations in the form of the revised Hydra Building Codes (Complied by the Office of Infrastructure Development in conjunction with the International Administration for Server Security, Agencies of the Department of Geometric Engineering and Hydra International respectively both of which Branches of The Eternal Empire of Hydra.), and for funding regarding the infrastructure development of the Empire's security. The largest impact of this act was the massively increased budget for defense spending highlighted by the passing of the RRM bill and the construction of the Wall Project around the entirety of Hydra's Island.

Publications and Works

Hydra’s Sleeper Agent Application

As Hydra's popularity and fame grew exponentially on the server due to their many successful raids, interest by other server citizens in joining the crew began to grow. In an effort to quickly, effectively, and precisely gauge different players aptitudes for joining the Empire Spock1101 created an application originally in PDF format that potential applicants could fill out and send back for scoring. If initial scores where deemed good enough Hydra's Office of Admissions would reach out tot the candidate to commence further testing and interviews. Once a candidate was deemed of possessing the necessary characteristics for joining Hydra was found by the Office, the candidate was passed off to the Hydra High Council for final confirmation and inauguration. Though originally filled out by hand the application has changed with technology in the previous years. Currently it is automated on a Google Form which upon submission has all portions excluding the foreign language and essay portions graded automatically.

A Mathematical Justification of the Etymological Synchronicity of the Player Currently Known as MelonIsNotAFruit

Though Hydra's most visible interaction with PorkIsAFruit is the famous trade initiative, the Crew's fascination with this player dates back to his first appearance on the server. His constant changing of names in a seemingly predictable fashion fascinated Hydran mathematicians and none more than Spock1101. In partial credit towards his degree, Spock1101 began the data analysis of the player with a mathematical variable construction of his name using a conditional matrix in conjunction with an expanded integral form of the Heaviside step function. The paper continued on to investigate and quantify the players names, even going so far as to predict future names with attached probabilities.

Hydra Building Codes

Started as a passion project in 2016 by Dpex81 and Spock1101 in a shared physics class this document eventually expanded to include the foundational building codes upon which every Hydran facility is built. In its original format it included amongst other things building specifications for thickness' of walls and ceilings and spacing guidelines for the different types of SafeSpaces™. After the Hydran Server Security Act of 2020 was passed renewed attention was payed to the Building Codes leading to the publishing of a revised version. This revised version includes such chapters as Building Safety Regulations: An Enumeration of the Various Safety Protocols and One Stone, Two Stone, Redstone, Blue Stone.

Foundations in Redstoning: A Classical Approach

After receiving hundreds of letters from ambitious students hoping to learn the ways of Redstone from the likes of Spock1101, he decided to write and publish a book which codified a lifetimes worth of knowledge in Redstone. Published in 2019 the book has since stayed on the New York Times best sellers and been added Oprah's book club. The book is considered to be one of the most complete and comprehensive publications on the subject beginning with the absolute basics and expanding each topic into untold reaches. The book is currently available on Amazon and a physical rerelease is rumored to begin in late 2022.

Personal Life

Career as a Professional Minecrafter

A week and a half after graduating from university Spock1101 was approached by a company that ran educational STEM focused camps around the world inquiring as to the possibility of using Minecraft as a more accessible 3D modeling tool for younger campers. After some discussion he was hired to head the technical aspects of that summers camps and to incorporate as well as teach Minecraft within the established curriculum. 3 weeks after that Spock1101 flew to Sichuan, China to begin his career as a professional Minecraft player. He spent the summer there working three camps over the country before an altercation with a CCP official led to him narrowly escaping the country to continue his studies.

Ambassador to Cosa Nostra

Partway through 2021 Spock1101 departed to northeastern Italy to conclude his current studies. While already assigned to the post of European Director of Hydra International his proximity to another well known crew positioned him well to establish diplomatic relations. For this reason on the behalf of Dpex81 desirous of maintaining and further developing the good relations which so fortunately exist between the Eternal Empire of Hydra and the Republic of Cosa Nova, Spock1101 was accredited to Cosa Nostra as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
