The Cormoran class of ships were a development upon the very first ship in the Xenon Empire; Shadow Atlas. They were small, nimble ships, and easy to build as designed for the now Xenian Navy. They formed the inspiration for the later Atlas class when the Shadow Atlas was rebuilt to similar specifications as the XNS Cormoran, but with a longer and broader hull for more cannons.
The lead ship of the class, Cormoran, was lost following an accidental magazine explosion (see Neptune-class(old)), with the other of an unknown name being sold to Astrobolt, and then Romich for conversion into the Italian ship Venezia. 2 remain in-service but incomplete with the British Empire and 13 Colonies as HMS Torqay and USS Constellation respectively.
The Cormoran-class would later become the successful Atlas class of 6th rates, which are among the most numerous capital ships on Piratecraft.
