The Cormoran class of ships were a development upon the very first ship in the Xenon Empire; Shadow Atlas. They were small, nimble ships, and easy to build. They formed the inspiration for the later Atlas class when the Shadow Atlas was rebuilt to a larger but similar design.
The lead ship of the class, Cormoran, was lost following an accidental magazine explosion (see Neptune-class(old), with the other of an unknown name being sold to Astrobolt, and then Romich for conversion into the Italian ship Venezia. 2 remain in-service but incomplete with the British Empire and 13 Colonies as HMS Torqay and USS Constellation respectively.
