Until recently, they have only known to live in the western ocean. They were also 16 narwhals discovered in the northern desert near xMadMonkeyx's town.

| Narwhals are considered as a highly endangered species on PirateCraft. Until recently, studies have shown that there may be as few as one narwhal on the entire server. Narwhals were discovered in the northern desert as well, prompting the question of their abilities to survive out of water.

| Narwhals have proven to be fearsome warriors in ship battles. After [[Astrobolt]] tamed the first discovered narwhal, he rode it into a ship battle, making [[Astrobolt]] the first player to bring a narwhal to a ship battle. Narwhals are able to carry up to 3 iron cannons, 2 mortars, cargo, and passengers, making them perfect for riding into combat.

| On November 26, 2017, [[Astrobolt]] brought the [[The Phantom Narwhal|Phantom Narwhal]] into battle after missing the last battle. (it was ships only, no subs allowed) Heavy damage was taken in the first few minutes due [[Maximus_Terragon]] allowing TNT. [[Maximus_Terragon]] quickly stopped the battle to allow time for the [[The Phantom Narwhal|Phantom Narwhal]] to be repaired. Unfortunately, an inadequate amount of time was given and the [[The Phantom Narwhal|Phantom Narwhal]] did not stand a chance when the battle resumed, even though TNT was no longer allowed.

| On May 26, 2018, exactly since months since the last ship battle that the [[The Phantom Narwhal|Phantom Narwhal]] participated in, [[Astrobolt]] returned and ended his boycott on battles organized by [[Maximus_Terragon]]. At the end of the battle, four ships, including the [[The Phantom Narwhal|Phantom Narwhal]], remained. The winner was decided by which ship had the most blocks remaining at the end. The [[The Phantom Narwhal|Phantom Narwhal]] emerged victorious with 93.4% of blocks remaining. This was the last schedule Battle of Freeport.
