Many years ago, there were numerous Roman-themed crews scattered across the server. The most prominent of these were [[TNRR]] and [[SPQR]]. While these crews may have been as different as night and day, they did have something in common. [[Cosmickingjoel]], a veteran PirateCraft player from 2017, held positions of co-leader in both crews for several years. He served them faithfully and gained a lot of knowledge on what it took to run a strong empire crew. Due to his vast experience from these Roman-themed crews, Cosmic felt equipped to take on a leadership role himself.
