Monodon monoceros is a rare species more commonly known as the narwhal. Narwhals are known to have a single, long horn in the front of their head. Until recently, they have only known to live in the western ocean. They were also 16 narwhals discovered in the northern desert near xMadMonkeyx's town.

Discovery

Narwhals were first discovered on PirateCraft by xMadBoltx in December 2016. They were discovered in the western ocean, approximately 5000 blocks from cove. The first narwhal to be found was recently relocated to the northern ocean.

Feeding Habits

As narwhals are very rare, little is known about their feeding habits. The most that can be concluded is that they eat plankton in large quantities that resemble coal.

Endangerment

Narwhals are considered as a highly endangered species on PirateCraft. Until recently, studies have shown that there may be as few as one narwhal left on the entire server. Narwhals were discovered in the northern desert as well, prompting the question of their abilities to survive out of water.

Recently, around the fall of 2017, a new breed of narwhals was discovered in the western ocean. This lessened fears that the narwhals might go extinct. So far, three of these new narwhals have been found.

Battles

Narwhals have proven to be fearsome warriors in ship battles. After xMadBoltx tamed the first discovered narwhal, he rode it into a ship battle, making xMadBoltx the first player to bring a narwhal to a ship battle. Narwhals are able to carry up to 3 iron cannons, 2 mortars, cargo, and passengers, making them perfect for riding into combat.

The First Battle of Freeport

On October 28, 2017, xMadBoltx brought the Phantom Narwhal into battle. It was quickly defeated. Two other narwhals were brought into battle, but they were also defeated.

The Second Battle of Freeport

On November 4, 2017, xMadBoltx brought the Phantom Narwhal into battle again. After xMadBoltx gave command of it to Nationalistic, (more commonly known as TheSmilingFlea) the Phantom Narwhal defeated the Teletub and won the battle.

Breeds

The first narwhal discovered is of the standard breed. It is much smaller, weaker, and less durable than the other breed of narwhal.

After the discovery of a new breed of narwhals, the three that were found were used in battle. They can carry a maximum of 10 cannons and 2 mortars. Additionally, these narwhals can also carry cargo.
