As the empire continued to expand and grow in territory and manpower, it came into conflict with its neighbor, the [[Eternal Sith Empire]]. Tensions from the Independence War had not yet vanished entirely, with [[ESE]] still holding many grudges against ROME. ESE had a history with Rome since the Roman precursor state, [[TNRR]]. The expansion of Roman territory near the ESE capital certainly did not ease the tensions. This resulted in the ROME-ESE war, which began only a short while after the Independence War ended.
