The netherbroods were a humanoid race that lived in the nether.

It was believed that the ancestors of the Netherbroods had built the Nether fortresses but even if this is true, their descendants, the Netherbroods, had lost all knowledge about craftsmanship and had ultimately degenerated.

Lifestyle[edit | edit source]

Netherbroods usually live in the Nether in hidden caverns where they can be protected from the bigger predators that roamed the Nether.
They built small shelters within those caverns where they usually slept and farmed. The primary food source of the Netherbroods were that of mushrooms which they needed to survive as there was no alternate food source around.
Some more archaic groups would farm netherwarts however the constant fear of blazes was always in the back of their minds.

Few Netherbroods have reached the overworld through a portal.
If one of them gets there by chance he often starts to "corrupt" the overworld with netherrack so he or she can live in a place that will be similar to that of their old home. However, this allows the people who live in the Overworld to identify and then attack Netherbroods.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Netherbroods are usually humanoid creatures adapted to the life in the nether but their appearance can differ since different areas in the nether might influence their evolution.

An average netherbrood has the same height as a human and also the same amount of legs,arms,heads etc.
Their biggest difference is probably their skin colour which usually differs from red to dark brown to make it easier for the netherbroods to hide in the nether.

Also their skin and muscles seem to be thicker and stronger than those of a human which seems to be necessary since there are only few netherbroods who have tools so they dig only with their hands.

Since most netherbroods are cave inhabitants in the nether their eyes usually are larger than those of humans so they can capture every little bit of light.
The horns that most netherbroods have seem to be a tool sometimes and a dimorphism the other time to impress other beings or netherbroods.
