'Anarchism', is the server political movement that builds upon the ideas of Shrekism (political). On top of the base beliefs of Shrekism, members of the movement believe that there is far too much moderation and staff involvement into drama, and that the addition of too many rules has damaged the freedoms of players. They argue that the rules limit the effectiveness of 'being a pirate' and that 'players are too safe'.

The movement was popularised by the crew Horsia and its members, and some members of THT and RoV. It is considered a small, but vocal minority on the server; mostly due to the fact that many players who believed in it have since moved to different servers or were banned.

Example Policies

These reflect commonly suggested changes players from these crews suggest and aim to show the general aims of this group.

  • Pretty much all Shrekism policies:
    • Addition of an enderpearl cooldown, so people are unable to run as easily during a fight.
    • Addition of a damage modifier, such that it is much more easy to take damage and die.
    • Addition of claim-conquering, so that it is possible to fight over claimed land and take it over by force.
    • Addition of more and stronger event weapons, and pvp-focused events to test each other's skill.
    • Improved means of viewing other player's pvp stats, such as KDR, and using it as the basis to rank crews.
    • Reduction in number of siege-proof blocks to allow sieges to increase the availability of loot.
  • Reduction in pvp and siege moderation, such as removing the 'harassment' rule, enabling the use of /back after pvp death (or removing it for all ranks).
  • Allowing the use of glitches to gain entry to claimed bases as a legitimate tactic.
  • Allowing greater use of mods and texturepacks for pvp and non-pvp purposes, such as BetterPvP (banned on normal PMC).
  • Disallowing staff from meddling into internal player drama, thus removing staff bias, and giving players greater freedoms.
  • Reducing staff duties to development and plugin testing.
  • Removal of all chat filters, and being allowed to say whatever you want.

Followers

Anarchism is a more extreme version of Shrekism, and has a significantly smaller, but vocal minority. Many players who came from anarchy or heavily pvp-focused servers tend to identify with Anarchism, which include some members from RoV and THT among others. The main crew that represents this idea however is Horsia.

Very few active people remain who believe the server should be changed according to the beliefs of Anarchism; as most have left for other servers or have been banned for attempting to follow these rules they set out on PMC (such as glitching into bases).

Criticisms

Similar to Shrekism, Anarchism is seen by many players of the opposite spectrum (less pvp) as being the main cause of server drama and friction, but to a much stronger degree. While PMC doesn't disallow Anarchism (you're always welcome to suggest changes), staff have consistently punished members associated with it for glitching, toxicity, and 'being assholes' in the past - a point regularly raised by followers of Anarchism and Shrekism as proof of the 'overly passive stance of the server, and showing bias towards pvpers'.

Followers of most other movements have condemned followers of Anarchism for 'extreme toxicity' and being 'destructive towards the server'. Some members of Shrekism and Renaissance tolerate the ideas of anarchists, believing it would be refreshing to the server to see less moderation. Generally speaking though, players who follow Anarchism are pretty unpopular within the community.
