Followers of 'Renaissance' are difficult to find among established and long-term players. Most people who believe in it are newer players who have joined during 2018, and are eagerly waiting for 1.13 and 1.14 updates, and the opportunity to become the richest on the server by resetting everyone else.

The few veteran players do believe the server should be reset usually point out "its no longer fun when everything has been claimed", or that "the new aquatic update, is the perfect opportunity to reset the map - this would keep new players on for longer".

The main criticism of Renaissance is the effect it has on the longer-term players who have invested many hundreds of hours of playtime into their bases, builds, and acquiring items and riches - which would all be reset overnight. Across the board, many veterans have been vocal about quitting the server if the map is reset.

The issue of updates has long been a discussion point on the forums, in-game, and on discord. The current plan is to remove all claims of players that have been offline for more than 900 days, and either automatically regenerate all completely unclaimed chunks of land, or manually do this over the course of several months. Up to 70% of the land and 95% of the ocean would be reset this way, opening up the opportunity for players to harvest the new blocks from the updates. The same is planned for the nether and end.
