==How do I enter a ship and crew?==

Ship captains will fill out a form that will be sent to staff listing the captain, name of their team, and all of the teammates. The first three to be filled out will be participating; the last three will be back-ups and first in line for the next battle.

==What about the Arena?==

You can get to the arena with /warp event before a battle. It is located at x: y:100 z:

The arena has a water depth of roughly 10 blocks. There are some rocks near the edges of the arena for smaller ships to seek cover.

Spectators have their own separate area to view the battle from. Spectators are advised to stay in this area.

The winner is the last ship that is able to sail, when all other ships are out.

You are 'out' if:
* Your ship sinks
* Your ship can no longer move
* The crew abandons the ship
* The captain surrenders
* Or if you are disqualified

If your ship has not moved in a few minutes and looks heavily damaged, you will be given 3 minutes to get it moving or risk being disqualified.

If several ships can still fight after 1 hour, then there will be a 10 minute period of 'sudden-death'. If you are killed during this time, you may not return to your ship. The ship with the most remaining crew wins.

==Is there a prize?==

Yes. The prizes are handed to the captain of the ship, for them to divide it among the crew as they wish.

==Other==
The ship battles test your ability to use ships, aim and use cannons, and work in a team. A small, well organized crew in a small ship can easily win against a large, unorganized crew in a big ship.

= History =

== Beginnings ==
Astrobolt first joined PirateCraft on December 10, 2015. After a few days, he was invited to join the [[United States Empire]]. For over a month, he endured countless raids and attacks on Decky Town, [[USE]]'s capital. Growing tired of the poorly managed crew, Astro eventually betrayed [[USE]] by destroying the administrative sections of Decky Town. Shortly afterwards, he began construction on a new base in the [[Central Ocean]], about 500 blocks south of [[Cove]].

This new base, however, did not come without its own issues. Despite being unaware of it at the time, Astro had built it extremely close to [[dagersh]]'s base. [[Dagersh]], being one of the most powerful players on the server and a member of the [[Crusaders of the Void]], forced Astro to move their new ocean base further away. With [[dagersh|dagersh's]] help, a new base was eventually constructed at a safe distance. These events led to Astro developing a strong loyalty towards [[dagersh]] that would help propel him to fame.

== Rise to Fame ==
After several months of being in his own one-person crew, Astro was invited to <nowiki>[[Solis]]</nowiki> by RaveTheWave. During that time he was able to use crew resources to increase his own reputation. Astro stayed in the crew for several months, until Konstruktor quit PirateCraft, which <nowiki>[[Solis]]</nowiki> partially contributed to. These events led to a minor rift in the crew, prompting Astro to leave <nowiki>[[Solis]]</nowiki> before things got worse.

Only a matter of days after leaving <nowiki>[[Solis]]</nowiki>, Astro was invited to <nowiki>[[Khaos|KHAOS]]</nowiki> by souldin1. <nowiki>[[Khaos|KHAOS]]</nowiki> was one of the many results of the disbanding of <nowiki>[[CoV]]</nowiki> and was comprised of many of the crew's former members. Astro stayed in <nowiki>[[Khaos|KHAOS]]</nowiki> for several weeks until being invited to the newly-formed <nowiki>[[The Asylum|Asylum]]</nowiki> by <nowiki>[[Cysteen]]</nowiki>.

Astro was one of the first people to join [[The Asylum|Asylum]]. [[TAS]] was perhaps the single-biggest factor in Astro's remarkably quick rise to fame. During his several-month stint in the crew, many members, especially [[Moossolini|Jmoo12086]], helped convince Astro that he needed a new base. It was then that he got rid of his stone brick box in the [[Central Ocean]] and made an underground base named [[Mesa Basa]] in the [[Southern Mesa]] near [[dagersh|dagersh's]] base. Astro's new base would later become one of the safest and most famous, yet most secretive, bases on PirateCraft. Unfortunately, several months after joining [[TAS]], internal conflicts among the crew started to appear, such as stealing and killing, eventually giving Astro no choice but to leave the crew.

== Pirate Era ==
After leaving [[TAS]], Astro temporarily joined Piratequest. Shortly afterwards, he became friends with [[Browe_]] and they made a new crew called Meat Beaters Anonymous as a joke. [[Browe_]] and Astro would soon go on to make a new crew called [[Phantom]] with [[Galaxy219]], which would become one of the greatest crews in the history of PirateCraft.

[[Phantom]], a pirate crew, originated with the intent of making heavy use of ships and having an island base. Taking advantage of the theme of ships, along with the popular Narwhal Song, Astro built the very first iteration of the [[The Phantom Narwhal|Phantom Narwhal]], which itself would have future iterations that would be the most successful ships in the history of PirateCraft's organized ship battles. It was also at this time that Astro became one of the most infamous ship thieves on PirateCraft. After noticing several common design flaws with standard security measures, Astro led several other members of [[Phantom]] in raids, stealing several ships from [[Port Ae0s|ae0's island]], along with ships from many significant bases across the server. Shortly after the crew was made, Astro left and disbanded the crew due to internal conflicts.

After leaving the crew, Astro stole perhaps the most prized ship in PirateCraft history, [[Browe|Browe_'s]] Phantom Sovereign, later completely destroying it. Later on, Astro commissioned [[Maximus_Terragon]] and [[SnapCrackPlays]] to rebuild the Phantom Sovereign. Soon after, [[Maximus_Terragon]] stole the ship, eventually making it a permanent museum ship at [[The Cove|Cove]]. these events led to the blaze of glory that was [[Phantom|Phantom's]] collapse and made Astro one of the most notorious players on the server.

== Idle Period ==
After disbanding [[Phantom]] and destroying the Phantom Sovereign, Astro joined the [[British Empire]] and entered an idle period. During this time he was less active and drifted from crew to crew. After spending several weeks in [[BE]] he left and made the first iteration of the Narwhal Syndicate as a solo crew. He eventually disbanded the crew in order to rejoin [[BE]], which he stayed in for several months until being invited to join the [[Coalition]] by [[Ketoh|Kettoh]].

After spending several days in the crew, NadolfPickler kicked Astro while he was offline for no apparent reason. Astro was later invited to Black Wake by DriftingSixGuns. Astro soon left Black Wake due to internal conflicts, rejoining the [[Coalition]], and once again leaving to rejoin [[BE]].

Astro left [[BE]] soon afterwards, joining Dealer's Deck after being invited by [[Lucky_da_Freak|_Freke_]], where he was quickly promoted to leader. Several weeks later, however, Astro left the crew in order to calm increasing aggression from certain members of [[TAS]] towards Dealer's Deck, which was a direct result of Astro's presence in Dealer's Deck. After leaving Dealer's Deck, Astro made the second iteration of the Narwhal Syndicate, which was once again a solo crew. Several weeks later, he disbanded the crew and was reinvited to [[TAS]].

== Return to Prominence ==
After being reinvited to <nowiki>[[TAS]]</nowiki> following a long absence from the crew, Astro began to come back from his idle period and return to prominence. However, this stint in <nowiki>[[TAS]]</nowiki> was not meant to be; internal conflicts, disputes with allies and rivals, and fellow crew members harassing him led Astro to leave the crew once again.

Shortly afterwards, Astro joined [[dagersh|dagersh's]] and [[Elo106|Elo106's]] crew, House Indoril. Despite enjoying his stint in HI and continuing to show his loyalty towards [[dagersh]] and enjoy a good friendship with [[Elo106]], Astro left after once again being reinvited to [[TAS]] by [[Nahadoth]].

Unfortunately, this would be Astro's last time being a member of <nowiki>[[TAS]]</nowiki>. After rejoining, crew leaders decided to cut off the <nowiki>[[Narwhal HQ]]</nowiki> from crew resources such as the iron farm and the guardian grinder. In response to this blockade, Astro developed a way to bypass the blockade and once again gain access to crew resources. While the resources were important, these actions were primarily to prove a point. As a result of these events and the general rising tensions between Astro and the other members of <nowiki>[[TAS]]</nowiki>, he left the crew.

After leaving [[TAS]] for the final time, Astro made the third iteration of the Narwhal Syndicate and was the only member. He remained in the crew until he was banned on March 6, 2019.

== Unban and Return to Glory ==
On February 26, 2022, almost 3 years later, Astro was unbanned. Since returning, he has established the fourth iteration of the [[The Narwhal Syndicate|Narwhal Syndicate]] as one of PirateCraft's premier crews, forging strong alliances with friends and continuing to expand the crew's territory. He has also taken on the project of heavily renovating [[Mesa Basa]], modernizing its security and other redstone-related systems in order to return it to its former glory.

Since creating the fourth iteration of [[NRWHL]], Astro has shifted the crew's ethos to focus on ships of war and redstone engineering. Additionally, the crew expanded to a total of six members: Ashgrove22, Azuries, [[Decsain]], Folsky, [[Nahadoth]], and Zee_King_Bee (ordered alphabetically). [[Decsain]] shared a leadership role with Astro during her time in the crew, but eventually left due to irresolvable differences regarding policies regarding other crews. Ashgrove22 and [[Nahadoth]] later joined her new crew, ECHO. Azuries and Zee_King_Bee remained in [[NRWHL]], while Folsky temporarily left and later rejoined. In early March of 2023, [[Lawzoneon]] joined the crew, further solidifying [[NRWHL]]'s ethos of inviting players from the early years of the PirateCraft. Today, [[NRWHL]] stands firmly as one of PirateCraft's most prominent crews and, despite only having five members, boasts impressive territory size and full control of the oceans with its unrivalled navy.

In addition to his redstone projects, Astro has also taken up PirateCraft's long-lost art of shipbuilding, sparking a new golden age for the craft. Using real-life shipbuilding techniques, his finest ship, ''Saint of the South'', stands guard off the coast of Samos, deterring enemy invaders day and night.

On February 25, 2023, Astro joined the Shadow Realm as a dual citizen. Today, he maintains sole leadership of [[NRWHL]] while enjoying the full rights and privileges given to citizens of SHDW.

Early in the battle, the [[The Phantom Narwhal|Phantom Narwhal]] took heavy damage from TNT. The battle was quickly stopped by [[Maximus_Terragon]], but the damage had already been done. Original apart of a crew of 3 [[Deckhands]], IronGolem5, Silver_Wild, and DeDerpyDerp_. DeDerpyDerp_ set out south of their original fort near [[East]] for a place to build a port. After receiving the rank of Firstmate, which he wanted to be able to sail a Frigate, he beached his small dhow at the current location of Port Potato. After constructing a small base, he set north and found a Frigate, to his surprise it was unclaimed. He captured it and sailed it to the Port and thus the Port Potato Navy was created, with the first ship being [[DNS Surprise]]. The first crew DeDerpyDerp_ was in was "[[DNE]]", which didn't last long. Soon, [[Sonu06]] of the crew AQUA asked DeDerpyDerp__ to join him, which he accepted. His 2 friends were kept in the dark of the port, in order to surprise them.

As DeDerpyDerp__ invested into the port, becoming more active, his friends became less active. Not much is recorded of this time, sadly. A more indepth account is taken here: [[DNE]]

Soon, None of the Port Potato members were active. Even DeDerpyDerp_, "The Last of Port Potato", IronGolem5 handing over his claims, and Silver_Wild (who would've been the successor to DeDerpyDerp_) leaving, left just him. (Now they really did quit, besides 2 times IronGolem5 checked in.) He went offline for almost 6 months, even unlocking his ships and telling allies "all yours, just sail them to a better home." (Luckily none we're ever taken).

DeDerpyDerp_ then went inactive for months, leading to an even more rapid decline to [[DNE]]. For more then 6 months the port was abandoned, the ships where left unlocked for the taking; everything short of opening the chests and unclaiming everything happened. Luckily, no-one took up any of the offers or griefed Port Potato.

The planned final message, on discord, to [[DeDerpyDerp_]]'s allies:
"As much as it should pain me to say this, I fully support it. Port Potato will not have a line of succession. It will stay under my name, until it is erased from the server, whether it be from grieving, or from deleting chunks. The 2 executives of Port Potato agreed that we'd not trust anyone to take over our hard work, and this is the way we stand. The other has stepped down, so it is just me. I may end up unlocking my ships, may they have a good voyage to there next life. The beacon will stay with the port, to show what once was just 3 friends, now just the one, having fun.
